Energy Saver is a control panel that gives the option of setting the monitor to go into low power mode after the computer has been idle for a specified time up to one hour.
It will function only on Macintosh Quadra, Centris, or LC III computers and requires System 7.1.
Energy Saver will function only with Apple Energy Star–compliant monitors using the built-in video support.
To find out if your monitor is Apple Energy Star compliant, check the label on the box that your monitor came in for the "EPA Energy Star" logo.
